Text comparison

Compare text and UTF-8 files with line and character differences, ignore rules, batch processing and downloadable reports.

HOW IT WORKS

01

Add inputs or load an example.

02

Review settings and preview the results.

03

Download results, reports or a backup before leaving.

Worked examples

These are reproducible settings, not uploaded customer data. Review the generated result before downloading.

Example Input / settings Expected result
Text comparison
{"left":"Hello","right":"hello","ignoreCase":true}
+0 / -0
PATCH: -Hello / +hello

Comparison view and PATCH serve different purposes

Ignoring case or whitespace reduces visual noise. PATCH still records the original text changes, so an apparently equal comparison can have a nonempty patch. Use TXT or HTML for review and PATCH for applying exact changes. Compare a small sample before processing a batch.

Capabilities and limits

Use up to 20 file pairs or import a JSON batch. Combined text per pair is limited to 400,000 characters. Comparisons run in a worker with a timeout. Ignoring whitespace or case changes the comparison view; PATCH exports preserve the original text.

A FEW HELPFUL ANSWERS

Before you get started.

Is my input uploaded?

Processing stays on your device. No account is required. Download your results before closing this page.

How are multiple text files paired?

The original and changed file lists are paired by selection order, not filename. Select the same number on both sides, up to 20 pairs. Inputs must be UTF-8 text; Word and PDF files are not extracted.
