Guidance is not an upload guarantee

Etsy recommends listing photos at least 2,000 pixels wide and 2,000 pixels high. Shopify product-media guidance describes images up to 5,000 × 5,000 pixels or 25 megapixels and under 20 MB; Shopify also creates different image versions for storefront display.

These checks compare your file with the selected published guidance. Store settings, upload surfaces, file types, product context, and future platform changes can affect acceptance. Verify the current requirements in your seller account before publishing.

    A FEW HELPFUL ANSWERS

    Before you get started.

Does the Etsy check enforce a 2,000-pixel minimum?

No. Etsy describes this as a recommendation. The tool labels the result against that recommendation, not as a definitive upload error.

Why does Shopify show more than one image-size limit online?

Shopify documents product-media guidance and upload limits in different help pages and workflows. This tool links to the product-media guidance and treats its comparison as informational; check the current uploader requirements for your store.

Are my photos sent to the marketplaces?

No. The file is inspected in your browser and is not uploaded by this tool.
